Not only was Albenexter cheap, he was also lazy. Another of Albenexter's creations, his Book of Dication, came in very handy while he created magical items and spells.
One of his first creations, the Book of Dication is able to, on command,
record anything that is spoken out loud within a 10 foot radius of it's
location. The book must be open and turned to a blank or page to function.
It will make note of different voices by printing different colours, as well as
record any sounds, regardless of thier source, spelling them as closely as
phonetically possible. The pages will turn automatically as it records, until
the command to stop is given.
Unfortunatly, the Book was never perfected, as it often confused words that
were spoken to fast or not clear enough, so there is a chance that the text
recorded is unreadable, either in parts of as a whole. (1D20 per page)
1-5: perfectly legeble
6-15: occational muddled or indeciferable words
16-18: barely legeble, only every third word is understandable
19-20: Completely garbled and unreadable.
The book can be erased and reused as many times as neccessary, but another
drawback to the Book of Dictation is that it can only be blanked as a whole.
If any pages are ripped or removed, they become blank pieces of ordinary paper,
and any writing on it is lost.
